Boris Matthews, Ph.D.
The goal in Analytical Psychology is for you to learn to integrate the information from body, brain, mind and spirit so that you can live as a whole person. Together we pay close attention to your physical, mental, and emotional experience to create harmony.
Harmony among body, brain, mind, and spirit creates your experience of physical health, emotional satisfaction, centeredness, accomplishment, direciton, peace, and meaning in life.
Disharmony among the body, brain, mind, and spirit causes you to feel physical distress, mental turmoil, and the emotions of fear, powerlessness, anger, guilt, and shame.
In the course of analytical treatment, you can:
- deconstruct old hang-ups and barriers
- learn to recognize and follow the flow of your energy and interest
- develop a better relationship to yourself and to your environment
- integrate more of your potential as conscious resources and skills
- gain a fuller sens of self
- discover the authentic source of your inner guidance
In Analytical Psychology we work together to sharpen your awareness so that you can understand what your experience is trying totell you about your life. By paying careful attention to your bodily symptoms, dreams, thoughts, and your relationships we discern what suits you and what does not suit you. In this way we discover together what would bring your conscious life more into harmony with your essential being.
Since graduating in 1987 from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago, I have practiced Analytical Psychology in the Milwaukee/Pewaukee and Madison area. At the Jung Institute I continue to serve in various capacities, currently at chairperson of the Program Committee and faculty member in the Analyst Training Program.
