My patient’s always ask me what I eat for breakfast.  They requested I publish the recipe for what I have been happily eating for breakfast for over a decade. Here it is!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 3/4 cup hemp milk
  • 2 tablespoons coconut chia pudding
  • 8 roasted cashews, almonds or pecans*
  • 1 tsp raisins
  • 1 tsp oat bran
  • 2 tablespoons oat bran cereal
Instructions:

Combine the frozen blueberries with hemp milk.  Add the additional ingredients on top. Enjoy!

*Roasting the nuts:

Place 2 cups of any organic raw nuts you like on a tray and spread them by hand to cover the tray.  Place in your toaster or regular oven at 350 degrees for 3 to 5 minutes, checking them periodically to make sure they are not burning.  Check to make sure they are slightly browned.  They will have a slight sizzle. Pull them out of the oven once roasted, and let cool at room temperature for 10 min.  Store nuts in glass jars in your pantry.

Every week, I prepare hemp milk and coconut chia pudding and store them in mason jars in the refrigerator.  Both last about 5 to 6 days.

I have been eating this delicious concoction for breakfast nearly every day for the past 10 years.  It offers a blast of antioxidants, immune boosters, fiber, omega -3 and immense satisfaction that lasts till lunch. You will not feel hungry for hours after eating this.

Mmm! Satisfying!

Bon Appetit!
